As you’ll know, from time to time I like going deep into various subjects on this site yet after watching the presentation style on this advert from Nestlé, Swiss multinational food & beverage company. For once, I am lost for words…
Liverpool [UK], up until 1986, was still the classical Dock/Port in the transportation of goods as well as people. To compare, its local rival Manchester had an established Airport but was only a quarter of its current 2013 size, and also the price of a Plane Ticket was expensive due to lack of competition within the commercial airline sector.
One of the benefits was obtaining things from all over the world as childhood Birthday & Christmas Presents, especially Action Figures from far places…
Whilst I didn’t own that exact action figure I had a number from the same range from Japan and, before you Tweet, they where finally given away to my local Oxfam (UK national chain Charity Shop) once this life-changing moment arrived on my radar…
Due to the overt racism on British 1970’s & 1980’s Television (it still is but only shows up during moments of major national tension) many people got their entertainment via VHS Tapes (the Great-Grandparent of Blu-ray) creating a compilation of African-American Television. Along with similar films this tended to be uplifting rather than humiliating. The media as a whole, even now in the allegedly more liberal era of the early 21st Century, has problems dealing with the following subject. Yet people have been doing this since the beginning of humanity…
The greatest impact those mentioned American VHS compilations had on me was a Horror-Gangster Film
J. D.’s Revenge
The Film, released in 1976 and based in New Orleans, tells the fictional story of a African-American University Student studying Law (a new concept to my 8 year old self in 1985) that gets possessed, after participating as an audience member in a hypnosis act whilst on a night-out in a cabaret club.
Normally in Cinema possession occurs by a demonic force, yet what makes this unique is that it’s done by a restless soul of a murdered Gangster. The genius angle of the Film is the Gangster – ‘J.D Walker’ – died in 1942, and due to the rapid socio-economic changes, especially in America, this might as well be 84 years rather than the actual 34 time difference. Everything had suddenly progressed, from Women’s Rights to Music.
I remember my Dad, talking about ‘J.D Revenge’ for about two weeks to everybody. So, on a School-night in the early hours when everybody was sleeping I went downstairs put the VHS in & put my Dad’s Headphone’s into the front of Television. What I discovered was & still is a classic with plenty of memorable quotes. ‘J.D Revenge’ totally changed the way I saw Black people & for the better as the ending is uplifting.
The Film nails this point in a superb manner with J.D being amazed & surprised at this new world. Praise should go to Glynn Turman for a memorable performance playing two polar opposites, the type of young man who every mother would love her daughter to marry & a foul-mouth ultra-cool street villain.
George Lucas was that impressed with Turman that he was his first Choice to play a certain ‘Han Solo’, yet due to racism in Hollywood & Western Society funding would have NEVER been given as Carrie Fisher was lined-up to play the role of ‘Princess Leia’. Even in 2013, non-White Actors in American Cinema are portrayed as either the side-kick or equal, rarely the hero-lead of a Film. Before anybody mentions Will Smith, in my opinion he’s the Hollywood version of Barack Obama – simply all hype with zero substance. Smith is the kind of Black Man that White People like due to him having no edge when he’s interviewed – you know what you’ll get. Certainly this doesn’t apply to say Samuel L. Jackson, Denzel Washington or the considerably older Morgan Freeman.
It’s possible those in control, yet always in the shadows of the Anglo-American Economic-Political-War Machine, might consider Will Smith as American President thus the perfect marriage of Langley, Virginia to Hollyweird, California. Will Smith has that much clout in Hollywood he can make a vanity project (his Son is the Co-Star) costing $130million yet Zombizoids programmed to worship corporate celebrity will go to the Cinema for this…
Will Smith speaking in that ultra-serious manner is as believable as Real Madrid announcing Tony Pulis as their new Manager. Things can still have high quality with very little or no expense, something Will Smith could do with understanding:

The above Photo speaks volumes about what in my opinion Jay-Z has brought to Hip-Hop… corporate thinking that has taken the focus away from the struggles of ordinary African-Americans. I’ve seen numerous interviews with the man on Television & in print over the years, with the impression I always get is his OWN feeling of self-importance – maybe it’s cultural perhaps with him being an American and a rapper?
After watching the below short video from Samsung – yeah that’s correct.
Hip-Hop has gone from it’s understandable connection with Street Culture especially Fashion to now sadly selling Mobile Phones for a South Korean Multinational.
You’ll be understanding my viewpoint after this Promotional Advert for Jay-Z new album out on the *4th of July (as one does) –
‘Magna Carta Holy Grail‘…
The manner of the advert in making Jay-Z appear as if some form genius is laughable, I suggest it’s more to do with having Corporations constantly informing us (the 99%) that he is?
After seeing that ‘Glory/Worship Fest’ of Jay-Z, I connected it with a conversation that BBC Hip-Hop DJ – Tim Westwood had with 50 Cent around sarcastic remarks made by Jay-Z regarding Mr. Cent.
What results is a very interesting analysis from 50 Cent on the psychology of Jay-Z in late 2009.
Watch from 3mins : 30secs onwards…
Hip-Hop is now under the tight control of the Corporate Elite, as they realised the raw power of the music as a way to improve humanity for the 99% in raising awareness of social inequality & bringing diverse people together – therefore ending ignorance. As mentioned in my now extensive archive on this website; culture has been hijacked by a Western Elite with the aim of lowering the intelligence of Consumers yet maximising profits. This is why Musicians with the Political Strength of John Lennon or Joan Baez aren’t around these days, but the current crop who are endorse everything from Luxury Cars to Chewing Gum.
Ask yourself is life in this early 21st Century Perfect, are all the problems of Humanity been successfully eradicated?
The answer sadly & possibly tragically for all of us is NO…
I’ll end this article with a surprising recent upload on Tim Westwood’s vast YouTube Channel, something that he was involved way back in 1990. That being a time when Rappers might not have had Off-shore Bank Accounts yet could understand the ordinary person on the street…

Nice slab of atmospheric deep house from Prompt here in the shape of ‘Senja’, which has some stirring chords, infectious percussion and an ever evolving soundscape. There’s only a dub and instrumental offered in the package, which with the original shorn of vocals mean there’s little variation between the three tracks, but in the digital age that isn’t the end of the road. Well worth your attention nevertheless.
On Wednesday 22nd May 2013, London became Gotham City after an off-duty member of the British Military was attacked with blades by two followers of extreme violent Islamic fundamentalism in the early afternoon.
The reason for the connection with Gotham City is due to the following two disturbing examples:
It could be seen that reality has sadly been connected with fiction, for those reading this article that aren’t currently in the UK the thing that has worried the nation is the manner of the two attackers. That being delivering an act extreme violence but then calmly explaining their actions to witnesses, requesting that those with Smartphones record what occurred & even waiting for what they would have realized would be an armed response anti-terrorism unit of The Metropolitan Police.
In the DC Comics, the Joker’s use of spectacular acts of violence is with the aim of creating mass hysteria in the majority of citizens of Gotham. This Headline connects with that approach…
The above image shows that ‘The Joker’ actually in some manner sees himself not as an anarchist-nihilist but as a liberator against what he would classify as the ultimate joke of existence. I’d guess he’d want the following played at his funeral as a result of Batman finally having enough of the ‘jokes’, so to speak…
Strangely, that video was also filmed on a London street. How life is presented is very interesting in that when you’re a child it seems anything is possible & can be achieved. I clearly remember being asked in school at around 6 years old what occupation I wanted to fulfill when becoming an adult, and my response was that of a Reverend.
At that time, I was fascinated by the tales of Moses & Jesus in standing up to injustice, specifically oppression of the poor, but also promoting love/honour. This belief-system was in reaction to anything North of Birmingham during the 1980’s being targeted for demolition by a certain Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. Looking back, her Cabinet wasn’t that pleasant either.
For those that have read my back catalogue of articles on this site will realize I couldn’t be compatible with working as a Reverend within The Church of England, as I am certainly not a corporate kind of guy but more a free person that stands against injustice.
Frustration in Britannia.
Let’s change the pace & look at the calibre of those whom have made themselves ‘Servants of the Public’ – you know them as Politicians.
Specifically former Prime Minister Tony Blair & his right-hand man Jack Straw, both of whom had an interesting manner of dealing with the requests for justice from families of those we now know died at Hillsborough due to Police negligence. On Monday 20th May 2013, the BBC went against its normal approach of sitting on the fence & broadcast a documentary that left the viewer with the undeniable conclusion that the power elite of the UK is immoral & corrupt. BBC editing that clearly shows the interviewer & employee Peter Marshall producing an epic moment of non-verbal communication, in his response due to Jack Straw’s 2013 hindsight:
A current example of the manner of separation between those in control & ordinary people here in the UK is the current Minister of Education – Michael Gove. Mr. Gove has NEVER worked in Education, and also doesn’t hold any qualifications in Teaching yet has declared on numerous occasions that he’s got the insight to improve the entire compulsory education sector! I am now wondering about the basic numeracy skills of a certain George Osbourne after realizing about Gove’s mentioned lack of expertise.
So, we are living in a world that is increasing becoming insane possibly due to the fact that we can banish those long-lasting needs with the aid of science & technology. I had a conversation with a person that had recovered from Heroin addiction, replacing the drug with Art, and they told me the strange relationship of using that drug in that the addict knows it’s poison but is afraid of life when clean of it, as taking Heroin for all it’s destruction IS normality.
It’s highly likely that a small select group of individuals require people to still be paying for Petroleum that pollutes rather than the exciting FREE Clean-Energy.
Constant Western Military involvement in Muslim Nations of the Middle-East that again makes money for those within stocks & shares of that sector. Then due to being in that part of the world we have immigration having sectors of British society actually despising the nation that granted them citizenship/refugee status. Those whom have the financial means of production gain from this cultural/religious/racial tension as the native population is more concerned about the changing demographics/community cohesion than who’s the major players living the V.I.P Lifestyle that control the UK’s cash-flow… the Mr. Big’s, so to speak. The Divide and Rule method was used very successful by The British Empire on others; who’s to say this simply isn’t some ’21st Century Remix’ being applied within the UK now?
Beheading a Man on a South-London Road in the name of Islam isn’t going to change anything just like joining the English Defence League in protection of English values against Muslims. What will change is intelligent analysis of exactly how the UK’s works especially the major-players or you could just believe everything the TV Newsreader say’s every night or a person you’ve classified as a Leader.
One of the proudest moments in British History was The Suffragette Movement (1889 – 1928) those 39 years saw an intense but non-violent approach that eventually got all adult women the right to participate in voting during Elections. We can either learn from historical fact or be a dummy wearing Stone Island Wooly Hats as a sign of ‘real manhood’, engaging in violence that’s doesn’t create solutions just more problems & the UK’s got enough to deal with already.
Or it might be part of some sort of plan, perhaps?
Note: Due to the terrorism of Wednesday 22nd May 2013, lot’s of anger & overt racism is currently being expressed via Social Networking (Facebook, Twitter & BBM).
Please spread this article as a response that hopefully will make people gain awareness rather than be victims of a cruel joke.

What can be said about Margaret Thatcher from me that hasn’t already been mentioned on the Television News, Nationwide Radio Stations & major Newspapers of Great Britannia since the announcement of her death on Monday 8th April 2013?
Honesty. None of this ‘no talking bad of the dead‘ traditionalist rubbish let’s get real…
The reason why Margaret Thatcher is rightly hated is that the nation wanted & in some way still require a leader that can make Britain great, and her methods on doing that have divided the nation. The only other Prime Minister since 1945 that can attain similar levels of negativity is…
Tony Blair was Prime Minister from 2nd May 1997 – 27th June 2007, that’s a long time yet for high ranking British Politics it’s more like a hundred years. Some would say his long-lasting legacy was Education, specifically in it’s compulsory phase, yet if this is true shouldn’t it have therefore produced more intelligent and sophisticated young people? You’d think this would be the case yet millions of them find this entertaining…
Also, praising Politicians for improving services for a nation’s Health Service/Education/Public Transport doesn’t work with me as that’s the same as giving merit badges for each Parent that feeds/clothes/houses a Child. This stuff is standard issue requirements. Current British Prime Minister David Cameron is asking for another 4 years in Power because he’s given an exemption to the National Health Service not being part of his austerity cuts, is he for real?!
I believe that Margaret Thatcher was, like her good friend Ronald Reagan, created. This being the correct term used by those figures who are in control yet we never see. It’s possible that each major leader is an actor paid to perform a role for it’s audience:
The British amongst you might view the above video as being somewhat typical of historical antics within The White House yet this little known BBC Documentary shows some uncomfortable truths about Margaret Thatcher.
Would the BBC have the courage to re-show this amazing Documentary showing the honest truth about Margaret Thatcher? The answer is unlikely, mainly because they wouldn’t want to become future victims of David Cameron’s austerity cuts. We have to realize that for all our technology; we occupy a world where Corporations have limitless resources & Journalists report rather than investigate corruption. Now honesty is located in Blogs rather than on TV News.
What proves how out of touch Margaret Thatcher along with each of her successors are, is the following 1985 Report from the American Ambassador to London – Raymond Seitz to his superiors:
Reading it, you get the feeling that Ambassador Seitz is in shock that the vast riots happening just four years earlier wasn’t direct enough to get Thatcher’s attention. Particularly the fact that the country included late nineteenth Century levels of actual poverty.
The report was made 28 years ago but worryingly it still has relevance hence the 2011 UK Riots. Life is getting bad when a Politician seems less convincing than a Professional Wrestler, isn’t living in a Democracy about being honest?
The majority living in Britain feel that life could be better yet it isn’t. Therefore ask yourself this, is our Democracy simply just an illusion? We might as well make CM Punk the new Prime Minster in the next General Election.
I will be celebrating the fact that such a vile individual like Thatcher is dead as these festivities at least show those pulling the strings in the shadows that they haven’t got complete control… yet. As long as freedom of expression doesn’t promote hate & violence then it should be allowed – that’s called True Democracy.
Margaret Thatcher leaves behind two children:
Sir Mark Thatcher – currently banned from entering America, Monaco & Switzerland for being an ‘undesirable’, due to funding an unsuccessful plot involving mercenaries taking over an oil-rich Equatorial Guinea (West Africa) in 2004.
Carol Thatcher – disgraced journalist banned from the BBC for openly expressing racist opinions.
Baroness (she was later given this title) Thatcher was known to be very keen on quoting scripture from The Holy Bible, whilst I am not Christian I found the following that’s suitable…
All he did was go on holiday. Hopping to cuba got a few people annoyed with Jigga so he did what anyone would do, wrote a retaliatory record. Special mention to the use of the word dweeb. Big up Hov for that.
It’s now a year (and a bit) since Darren first started writing blog posts for me. Having known him and his theories for a while I knew that I wasn’t going to get an ordinary submission from him but I still couldn’t of predicted the source material he would deliver each and every month. He’s certainly not disappointed in terms of surprise!
There are times when I’ve disagreed with certain aspects of what he’s said or even felt that I’m part of some of the people he’s lambasting (sorry, I love Breaking Bad), but I’ve always felt what he is writing is interesting, and certainly worthy of being put out there. And more often than not completely different from everything else on my blog, so at least a nice diversion from me enthusing excitedly about fifteen year old hip-hop albums.
On this year anniversary he focuses once again on music, this time the band that define the city he is from and I live in, the Beatles. You’d normally get an anniversary post on a Liverpool based DJ about the Beatles enthusing about their apocalyptic albums, but that isn’t Darren’s style. Conspiracy theorists on the Fab Four aren’t a new thing of course, but at least in Darren’s hands their entertaining and enlightening, regardless of how much you believe in the substance.
Thanks for a year Darren!
Photo: Mona Best – Owner of The Casbah Coffee Club in West Derby, Liverpool, UK & main inspiration for the most productive section of The Beatles Discography [Rubber Soul to Let It Be Albums].
It’s been exactly a year since my first article on GeneralJimmy.com.
Being from Liverpool, I decided to deal with something not commonly known by many people about the heritage of the city that may have been deliberately hidden by the Mass Media/Entertainment Industry:
It was my first ever article for a mass audience & what surprised me was the reaction of readers to this Photo of an actual Beatles Record Cover, I included:
The Beatles are still making money 44 years AFTER they decided to call it quits, with the City of Liverpool, specifically it’s City Centre, making a nice couple of quid as well due to plenty of fans making the pilgrimage. I live near the vicinity of Penny Lane & have met people from all over the world, some of whom become rather emotional as they have realise a life-time ambition.
Yet living in Liverpool at times you get the feeling that the people of city aren’t aware of the huge influence that The Fab Four have given the world. This below video, being a prime example…
You see Penny Lane has NEVER had a Fire Station, instead near-by Rose Lane does. Nobody knows why Brian Epstein, manager of The Beatles at the time, decided to change to title of the song, particularly as Rose Lane is possibly more catchy. Also, Rose Lane has always had that picturesque classic English Suburbia feel with lot’s of independent shops, unlike the boring but still nice Penny Lane. What happened if Epstein for some reason didn’t want THAT level of attention on Rose Lane even when it had all the landmarks referenced in the song along with being nicer?
The following excerpt is from the book ‘Haunted Liverpool’ by Liverpool Paranormal Writer – Tom Slemen…
″…Lennon sneaked out of his house, 251 Menlove Avenue, where he was living with Aunt Mimi, and walked just over a mile through the December snow to the bridge of destiny, arriving there just before midnight.
The Devil duly appeared as a tall shadowy figure with horns and uncanny-looking eyes . A bargain was struck.
Within three years, millions upon millions of people would idolize Lennon, and the rest of his band – The Beatles.”
Guess, what… Rose Lane is the location of that ‘bridge of destiny’, above the railtracks that go through Mossley Hill Train Station.
Before you dismiss this possibility allow Russell Brand to explain how humanity could have always interacted with other realms even life-forms since the beginning…
Therefore, humanity very may well be co-existing with other more advanced life-forms on this planet who may view us like we view Pigeons due to the intelligence/scientific knowledge gap.
Things, really get bizzaro when a woman from Delhi [India] relocated to Liverpool [UK] due to marriage & by doing so changed the world forever. This individual is…
The story goes that Mona arrived in Liverpool on Christmas Day 1945 to a City greatly destroyed by The Luftwaffe (Nazi Air Force), as a consequence of being a massive target during the second world war which had ended seven months previously. Mona’s background involved being brought up in a household of good-living, due to her farther having rank in the British Military in colonialist India for what would be the final years of The British Empire. Having to deal with a European Winter must have come as something as a culture-shock, coupled with a considerable lowering in living standards.
After nine years living in Liverpool, Mona had become frustrated with family life living above a Pub (how British can you get) yet a dream came with an answer, this being…
Sell everything the family had of value including the Sliver & bet the entire cash on a horse that was 33/1 to win The Derby.
If the dream manifested into reality then Mona could finally buy outright a House she had been eyeing up for some time, located in the new suburb of West Derby far away from the outskirts of the City Centre.
So, a strange symmetry happened that a woman needed a Horse to win The Derby so she could take her Family to a better life – if Russell Brand’s theory of existence might indeed be correct then the circumstances needing it’s intervention were here.
The Horse in question was called ‘Never Say Die’ & rode by an 18 year old Jockey that would in time become seen as the greatest ever in the history of that sport – Lester Piggott.
As you would have guessed, Mona’s dream did in-fact manifest into reality & it’s likely that she would have put her money down with an illegal Scouse bookmaker – UK Law of that time insisted that people could only bet at the Racecourse of which that race was happening.
Another interesting fact was the house that Mona bought with her winnings foretold in a dream was formerly a branch/Social Club of The Conservative Party. An established British Political Party with a shameful history. Mona decided to transform what was certainly a nest of vipers into something totally opposite… a Family Home that also doubled up as an artistic venue inspired by her Indian Heritage. Mona also relaised that a new-breed of social class was emerging… The Teenager.
Not old enough to occupy the Pubs, Social Clubs & Discothèques but old enough to no longer gain enjoyment from kicking a Football in the streets with friends. This gap in the market was crying out to be filled within Liverpool, so Mona therefore decided to give the basement a look of a nightclub yet was really an early evening/daytime weekend venue for the Teenage youth of Liverpool with affluent backgrounds. Clubs need music & enter three wise men…
Paul, George & John.
The trio soon got word of this new exciting venue, owned by a cool foreign exotic woman, where they could perfect their craft. She was impressed enough to let them be the house band providing they help with the painting & decorating of The Casbah Coffee Club.
In, time Mona used her influence on George who would ask endless questions about India & that nation’s spirituality (a theme that would emerge in The Beatles best work), to include her Son, Pete as Drummer.
Making three into what should have been a fabulous four.
Question: Why does Macca always take that pose, he looked stupid then & he still looks foolish now!
Things started off well enough but Pete soon started gaining more of the attractive looking female following, something which lead to jealousy especially from John, ironically a character trait which would become one of his most loved songs…
The original three also had a habit of starting trouble which could have manifested tragically when Stuart Sutcliffe joined the group for the legendary Hamburg sessions after attending the The Casbah. Legend has it that the cause of Sutcliffe’s death was due to a punch to the head, possibly from Lennon, during a drunken row in Hamburg’s famous red-light district.
After Sutcliffe’s death they decided they needed an enforcer to join, in short heavy muscle, but also not that good looking to replace Pete Best. Liverpool at the time was alive with music, its port status ensured it was the first place in the UK to get the sounds of America (even before that of London), which meant a vast majority of Teenage Boys wanted to replicate that Rock n’ Roll sound from across the ocean by being in a band.
They found their quarry in Ringo Starr, a drummer that was from the street-wise Toxteth area of Liverpool with a reputation for taking no s*%t. Later on, Starr would admit his tough fighting persona was due to insecurity as he missed a vast amount of education as a Child due to illness.
When Ringo replaced Best, the group had signed a contract with EMI Records leaving Best close to suicide as his dream was taken away from him at the worst possible moment. Yet, what kept him alive was the strength of his Mother as seen in this interview about the split…
John Lennon wrote a letter some years later to Mona Best requesting as a tribute the use of her father’s Military Medals for the Band. They planned to wear them on the psychedelic army uniforms for the publicity photographs of Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band Album. Mona agreed…
As a Mentor to John, Paul & George it must have hurt Mona to listen to the constant praise of their work especially once those Indian String sections with Sitars became part of The Fab Fours work as without her they wouldn’t have known about them.
Then as a Mother seeing a Son with talent betrayed at an early age by people considered close friends must have been even harder. Sure, millions if not billions of Pounds had been taken away yet feelings are worth more than money. Whilst doing research for this article, I encountered something that is truly extraordinary.
You’ve been warned…
The odds on Mona’s bet was 33/1… the number 33 is seen by many as having negative vibes, so to speak. The first Atomic Bomb known as ‘the Gadget’ was detonated at Trinity Site, New Mexico at the 33 Degree Latitude. Spanish explorers to The New World originally called this area La Jornada del Muerto (The Journey of the Dead) but now the site is marked by a small stone obelisk & we know The Freemasonic Brotherhood loves those obelisks.
Both Hiroshima and Nagasaki are both very close to that same 33 Degree Latitude.
Jesus Christ is said to have been executed when he was 33yrs old.
There happens to be 33 sections within the emblem of the United Nations.
& last but not least the highest self-admitted level of Freemasonry is the 33rd Degree.
Albert Einstein always claimed the understanding of numbers could deliver a deeper understanding to reality. Did Lennon make that deal made with ‘The Devil’ or more specific a Trans-Dimensional entity?
In the absence of an answer to that question, at least you now know about a Woman who’s actions (or was it influenced?) changed our world forever.
Mona Best (3 January 1924 – 9 September 1988) aged 64yrs.
Can Kendrick get any better? Yes, yes he can. This remix delivers the storyline of rap’s new king coming up in four minutes and three verse, all set to the backdrop of the most palpable beat on ‘Good Kid Maad City‘. First up Kendrick delivers a verse about the ease at which he’s entered hip-hop’s high end stratosphere, notably the ‘upper echelons’ as he calls it. Then Jay-Z turns up, delivers a brilliant verse for this remix (even if he is following certain Kanye delivery techniques now) before Kendirck gets back on the mic and absolutely lets rip.
They keep lashing the hype on this young boy and he keeps rising to it at every juncture. The way he pays his dues as well, hooking in Mc Eiht, Dre’s ministerial overlording and now Jigga, it’s similar to the way Em did the rounds during the Slim Shady era on Rawkus and the mixtapes (back when they were really underground). Yet he knows it’s his time to go against them competitively, getting in the booth and cutting their head off, as he puts it in Acclaim Magazine. God knows how good his next album is going to be…
Cazrface, the partnering up of Inspektah Deck from Wu and 7L & Esoteric, is a fictitious comic book character returning to the golden era of hip-hop. Those last four words are probably the most mooted in hip-hop circles, and it’s even more surprinsing that the year in question isn’t before 1993… instead it’s 1999.
It would seem odd that a member of Wu would be behind that assertion, even with his best album appearing that year (as well as the only real post wu tang forever masterpiece, Ghostface’s ‘Supreme Clientele’), but nevertheless there is a grain of truth in 1999 being the don year wise… and one I’ll visit with a stronger analysis in the future.
Anyway the album is a beast, not exactly the greatest lyrics ever but still tight with some fantastic beats, and some decent guest appearances as well. In the 1999 vein Ghostface turns up and mumbles like only he can, and Preemo delivers a textbook production, but it’s not all 20th century doyens. Action Bronson and Roc Marciano bring some heat too.
