Kendrick Lamar ‘Poetic Justice’ ft Drake – Video

I left university in May 2004, and I genuinely reckon that there hasn’t been a better hip-hop album released in that time period than Kendrick Lamar’s ‘Good Kid Maad City’. Hand on heart, it’s better than everything done by Kanye, Nas’ also great 2011 masterpiece ‘life is Good’ and certainly anything by the colum inch hoggers of hip-hop during this period, Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, Jigga et al.

Anyway, I’ll try and reason that argument at a later date when inevitably I still think Kendrick’s opus is amaizng in a years time, but dig the latest video to drop form him here featuring Drake.

Rick Ross ‘Bitch Don’t Kill My Vibe’ (Freestyle)

So Rick Ross got shot up yesterday, crashing his car in the process. He’s since released a freestyle which basically amounts to a few bars at the start of Kendrick Lamar’s immense ‘Bitch don’t kill my vibe’ in which he states the following:

“Sometimes I look in the mirror, I can’t believe I’m alive/ Disrespectful to ni**as who want to take me alive/ Wishin’ death on you ni**as, we’ll never see eye to eye/ Somehow I pray for you ni**as at the very same time,”

Which is pretty standard big baller rap lyrics but slightly more meaningful (maybe) in light of this drama. Queue a million internet rumours…

WUTANGISFORTHECHILDREN by Alexander Nut – Mix for Oki Ni

60 Minutes of Wu, mixed by Rinse FM’s Alexander Nut. The mix is designed to showcase the influence the monolithic hip-hop crew had on his musical upbringing in the mighty Wolverhampton, and is being delivered over on fashion emporium Oki-Ni’s great mixtape series. Amidst the consistent lyrical darts there’s the odd song the crew have sampled, such as Wendy Rene’s ‘After the laughter comes tears’, and lashings upon lashing of that off kilter bass heavy Wu production that makes you want to pull your hood over your head and delve into darkness. Great reminder about why Staten Island’s finest remain so relevant.

Kendrick Lamar “Backseat Freestyle”(Video)

Kendirck Lamar’s album ‘Good Kid Maad City‘ was easily one of the best of 2012 and one of the biggest grinding cuts on said opus was ‘Backseat freestyle’. That track has now got a video which flashes the Eiffel tower off a fair bit (the producer is Hit-Boy, the up and coming G.O.O.D Music boardsman behind ‘Niggas in Paris’), although thankfully no comparisons are made realistically between that and Kendrick’s dick.

Also getting exposed is Kendrick’s elder relatives Rick Ross esque gut and Sherane’s ‘ass that a ruler couldn’t measure’. Not ground-breaking but it is pretty entertaining. the album though, if you haven’t already kop that because it’s next level.

Rick Ross feat. Dr. Dre and JAY Z – 3 Kings (MMG Visual Piece)

Last week I showed you the track, now Rick Ross’ new single has a hot new video. Complex Mag also did a great piece on why the fat fuck is ridiculously stylish. Can’t argue on that front.
